I’ve spent my life in Redding, and since being elected to the City Council in November 2022 I’ve focused on the challenges that matter most — starting with the budget. I’m running for a second term to keep that work going.

A lifetime of service to Redding
Jack Munns was born and raised right here in Redding and graduated from Enterprise High School. The North State isn’t just where he lives — it’s home, and the community he has spent his life serving.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Social Work. That combination shapes how he approaches every issue facing the city: with accountability on one hand and genuine compassion on the other.
Before entering public service, Jack spent eight years in the casino industry, followed by a 21-year career in law enforcement — retiring as a Sergeant. Those years gave him a firsthand understanding of public safety, homelessness, and the everyday realities facing Redding’s working families.
On the City Council
Elected to the Redding City Council in November 2022, Jack has been a fiscal watchdog from day one — confronting the city’s budget deficit head-on, scrutinizing long-vacant positions, and pushing for an efficiency study so that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely. He has stood consistently with Redding’s first responders, backing the police officers and firefighters who keep our neighborhoods safe.
Why he’s running again
Jack is running for a second term to finish the work he started: a Redding that is safe, affordable, and built to last. He brings real-world experience — in law enforcement, in social work, and in the service industry — to the toughest problems the city faces, and he’s asking for your vote on November 3, 2026.
